We are a new initiative, recently registered as a CIC and currently awaiting OFSTED registration.
We have set up a Steiner Waldorf -inspired, holistic provision which offers an alternative to mainstream education. It is set on a 10 acre site in the border village of Cossall, Nottinghamshire, close to major routes to both Nottingham and Derby. The kindergarten is for 3 to 6 year olds. We have purchased a large static caravan for our immediate needs but the site has huge potential for the future in terms of building and developing a eco – friendly and sustainable provision.
Our ethos is to to create a nurturing, secure and slow-paced atmosphere for our children where their imagination is stimulated through creative play. Whilst the day has unstructured elements, there is clear structure and regular rhythms to each day.
Children participate in a range of activities including drawing, painting, needlework, baking, singing, group games and story time. There will be a big focus on play outdoors for gardening, games and self led play. Through all of these activities, imagination is stimulated which helps cognitive development, self confidence and problem solving skills.
